Dr. Alpesh Pathak, Head-API Patent Cell, Alembic Pharmaceuticals, has been working as
leading in-house counsel in Alembic’s legal group since Oct 2005 with a total experience more than 10 years in the field of IPR. Dr. Pathak works on a variety of intellectual property matters at Alembic, including Para IV filing, handling litigation and related activities, drafting and prosecution of patent applications, drafting and negotiation of intellectual property agreements with third parties, and due diligence analyses in support of in-licensing and out-licensing activities.

Prior to joining Alembic, Dr. Pathak has worked as senior IP associate with some of the leading pharmaceutical companies like Lupin Ltd., Zydus Cadila and Cadila Pharmaceuticals.

Pathak holds a PhD degree from The Sardar Patel University. Besided having PG diploma in Patent Law degree from Nalsar Uni, Hyderabad, he has undergone various specialised courses on US litigations and European patent practices. He has completed his Masters from the Sardar Patel University, and a B.Sc. from the same University with specialisation in organic chemistry.

Dr. Pathak is also active in certain knowledge development programs for creating IP awareness by conducting lectures in Global Institute of Intellectual property. He currently is a visiting faculty member at Sardar Patel University.
