Preventing Type 2 Diabetes in the MENA Region

Diabetes is a global threat. Researchers estimate that 26.6 million people in the Middle East and North Africa currently have diabetes. Six countries in the region are among the top 10 globally with the highest prevalence of diabetes.

In this interview Professor Peter Schwarz, Head of Department of Prevention and Care of Diabetes University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus, Dresden, talks to Andrea Charles from Pharma IQ, about the alarming growth of diabetes in the MENA region and strategies for prevention and management.
