Tim is a mechanical engineer by training with a background in engineering simulation and testing, particularly on mining machinery. For the last 7 years, he has been part of the SKM Integrated Mining Systems team that has delivered the Clermont IPCC system, a large number of studies from concept through to feasibility stage for a wide range of mining clients and is currently delivering the detail design of the S11D truckless system for Vale Iron Ore.
Tim was the Area Manager for the SKM EPCM team that delivered the Clermont Coal IPCC for Rio Tinto Coal, with a focus on the Takraf mobile machines used on that project and was also Engineering Manager for the delivery of an extension of the same system. From Clermont, Tim was Study Manager for the FEL 2 and FEL 3 S11D truckless mining system studies for Vale Iron Ore, working with the Vale team based in Belo Horizonte. He remains involved with the team delivering the detail design of the S11D project. Tim’s roles range from project and engineering management, technical involvement in mining systems projects, through to operating and capital cost modelling.
