Actor Ewan McGregor has had success in mainstream and indie films alike, from Trainspotting and Begginers to Star Wars and Moulin Rouge!.
In 2004 during his motorbike adventure Long Way Round Ewan and his friend Charley Boorman visited UNICEF projects in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Mongolia along the way.
In 2007, they embarked on a second adventure for Long Way Down and saw UNICEF's work with child soldiers in Uganda and land-mine awareness programmes in Ethiopia. The same year, they went on to highlight our work with children affected by HIV and AIDS through the documentary The Missing Face filmed on a visit to Malawi.
In 2010 Ewan visited Peru with Soccer Aid to raise awareness of child poverty and malnutrition. He actively supported our Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS campaign and continues to fundraise and campaign for UNICEF's work to support children's rights.
His most recent UNICEF visit took him to India, Nepal and Congo, on a mission to immunise some of the world's hardest-to-reach children. The show Ewan McGregor: Cold Chain Mission was broadcast on BBC2 and BBC HD in April 2011.
