Maj. Trisha Carpenter

Major Trisha Carpenter enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1995 and earned a commission in 1999. Completed the Command and Control Officers Course in 2001, and received orders to 8th Communications Battalion. During this assignment served as S-3 Information Technology Officer, Data Platoon Commander, OIC Battle Griffin Detachment, and 26 MEU JTF Enabler and Comm Det OIC. In 2003 with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom and JTF Liberia. Earned a B.S. in Information Systems Management from University of Maryland University College in May 2005.   

Following was an assignment to the Marine Cryptologic Battalion. Served as the National Security Agency’s liaison to the USMC, platoon commander, and Company B’s Executive Officer. Subsequent to this assignment, attended non-resident Command and Staff at the Naval Academy and graduated in 2008.

Major Carpenter was selected for the Special Education Program for Information Systems Technology, reported to Naval Postgraduate School in July 2008. She just graduated in the information assurance track completing a thesis titled Organizational Design and Analysis for Cyber Operations Applicable to the USMC in Sep 2010.

Personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
