James Gauci

James Gauci is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, having been involved in the use of these methodologies for the last 12 years. Gauci was initially introduced to Six Sigma during his 17 year career at General Electric’s (GE) Consumer Finance and Insurance Services Asia Pacific operations. Hailing from an operations background, predominantly involving a decentralized branch network, Gauci developed much experience in successfully addressing process variation problems between various branches and regions throughout Australia and New Zealand, obtaining both Green and Black Belt certifications along the way. Gauci spent the last 12 months of his career leading GE’s Australia and New Zealand Loss Recoveries operations, this time a centralized model which utilized contemporary, high volume inbound and outbound call center technologies.

Upon leaving GE, Gauci began a five year career with the ICT services multinational, Unisys, initially within their Asia Pacific Business Process Outsourcing businesses, before joining the Asia Pacific Executive Leadership team. His involvement in both Lean and Six Sigma varied from transactional processing type projects through to offshoring, customer loyalty and on shore, low cost labor model initiatives, some of which involved extensive dealings with both state and federal government agencies. In March 2009, Gauci commenced with RailCorp, the NSW government rail network and infrastructure agency. He has been responsible for establishing a Lean Six Sigma practice and supporting deployment for RailCorp’s Corporate and Service Delivery Groups which has already experienced some wonderful successes since this time. Gauci formally completed his Master Black Belt Certification in 2009 and has post graduate qualifications in International Business Operations.
