Leo Flanagan, Jr.
As founder and president of Flanagan Consultants, LLC, Leo Flanagan has developed a unique approach to the creation and execution of business, marketing and human resources strategies to drive sustained business success.
In addition to working with c-level executives to drive the performance of their businesses regardless of market or economic conditions, Flanagan specializes in disaster response and preparedness.
He is a licensed psychologist in the State of New York with over 30 years experience specializing in disasters and trauma at the individual, organizational and community levels. Flanagan has guided leaders in mitigating the impact of various disasters on their employees, customers, surrounding communities and business results. His experiences include responding to natural disasters from hurricanes to tornadoes, man-made disasters from homicides/suicides to industrial accidents to terrorist attacks. He led the development and implementation of the plan to reoccupy Merrill Lynch’s headquarters building adjacent to Ground Zero in New York City. This effort helped over 5000 employees return safely and productively to work less than 90 days after the 911 attacks.
Since, April 27th, 2009, he has been working with other leading experts to guide business and community leaders in responding to the current Swine Flu situation. He is currently working with global leaders in heavy industry to financial services to retail.
Flanagan has his bachelor’s from Fordham University, Masters from Hunter College and his PhD from the City University of New York. He is an active volunteer with Give An Hour a nationwide organization of psychologists serving our military members and veterans and HEART 911 a organization of rescue and recovery professionals committed to sharing the lessons learned from our response to the attacks of September 11th, 2001. He and his wife Maureen have been married for over 25 years and are the proud parents of four daughters, a son-in-law and two grandchildren.
