Larry Israelite joined Liberty Mutual in 2006. He is the vice president and manager of human resource development. The unit Israelite heads is responsible for supporting the development of managers who are capable of leading effectively in a changing, competitive environment and employees who are capable of sustaining a high level of performance. His areas of responsibility include Management and Professional Development, Performance Management, Selection and Succession Tools and Processes, and Instructional Product Development.
Prior to joining Liberty Mutual Israelite held learning management positions in a variety of industries, including financial services, healthcare and high tech. He worked for Pitney Bowes, the Forum Corporation, John Hancock Financial Services, Oxford Health Plans and the Digital Equipment Corporation. Israelite has worked in all instructional media, but has always focused on how technology can be used to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and impact of learning. He is the editor of Lies About Learning, a 2006 publication of ASTD Press, and contributed chapters to two books: Elliot Masie's Learning Rants, Raves, and Reflections: A Collection of Passionate and Professional Perspectives (Pfeiffer, 2005) and The AMA Handbook of ELearning Effective Design, Implementation, and Technology Solutions (AMACOM, 2003).
