Scott is the third generation President of J.D. Smith and Sons Ltd., a Toronto area, asset- based provider of third party integrated logistics solutions.  

Scott is currently Chairman of the Canadian Trucking Alliance, is a Past Chairman of both the Ontario Trucking Association and the Toronto Trucking Association, and is currently Chairman of the OTA’s Education Foundation. 

In 2007 J.D. Smith and Sons was named the first recipient of the Supply Chain and Logistics Association’s   “Green Supply Chain Award”, sponsored by Transport Canada, to recognize outstanding environmental leadership.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Western Ontario. He and his wife Kathy live in Toronto with their 3 sons Luke, Jeremy, and Benjamin.
