Global Technology Leader for Transport Protection DuPont

Steve trained in chemistry and materials science with a Master’s degree in Natural Sciences and a PhD in Organic Chemistry, both from the University of Cambridge.

He has worked at DuPont for almost 30 years, during which time he has held positions in R&D, Applications Development, Manufacturing, and Marketing. He has lived and worked in the UK, Japan, the U.S.A and Luxembourg. For most of his career he has been involved in new product development, finding novel solutions for problems in industries as diverse as printing, electronics, construction and packaging, and he is cited as an inventor on several DuPont patents. Steve is currently Global Technology Leader for Transport Protection at DuPont, where he and his team work collaboratively with industry partners, applying science to real-world cargo handling problems so that pharmaceutical producers can deliver medicines to patients safely and cost effectively, within the regulatory and practical constraints of pharmaceutical cold-chain logistics. Steve is also a member of the IATA Time & Temperature Working Group, helping to keep air-freight regulations up to date with evolving technology and to promote best practices in the industry.
