John Oh is the Senior Manager of Application Development in Pfizer’s Vaccine R&D Division. Having spent the majority of his career in various divisions at Pfizer, as well as a short stint at an in-memory database startup, John has implemented and supported a plethora of pharmaceutical-focused systems and software solutions.

In his current role, John was the lead developer of LIMS implementations and enhancements for several key vaccine candidates, including C. difficile, RSV and 20 valent pneumococcal vaccines.

Vendor lock in is a serious concern, because switching costs and business demands often make moving to another solution impractical, if not utterly impossible.

This session will cover practical methods of preventing your LIMS system from becoming a liability using real world examples. Topics will include methods of mitigating performance issues, improving user interfaces, working with and vetting vendor resources, etc.
