The In Silico Modeling and Simulation Conference to Enable Healthcare Innovation

29 - 30 March, 2022 | Online Event

Alejandro Frangi

Diamond Jubilee Chair in Computational Medicine University of Leeds

Prof Alejandro (Alex) Frangi obtained a BSc/MSc in Telecommunications Engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia (Barcelona) in 1996. He pursued his PhD in Medicine at the Image Sciences Institute of the University Medical Centre Utrecht University on model-based cardiovascular image analysis. He is the Diamond Jubilee Chair in Computational Medicine at the University of Leeds, UK, with joint appointments at the School of Computing and the School of Medicine. He leads the Centre for Computational Imaging and Simulation Technologies in Biomedicine. He is also a Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies, Visiting Professor at KU Leuven, Belgium. Prof Frangi has main research interests at the crossroad of medical image analysis and modelling, emphasising machine learning (phenomenological models) and computational physiology (mechanistic models).

Conference Day One: Medical Devices

11:00 AM Panel: The Process to Adopt and Deploy

Despite the success of Computer Modeling & Simulation (CM&S) for medical device companies, some decision-makers remain intimidated or uncertain about the most efficient way to adopt and deploy CM&S. This prestigious panel of in silico methods veterans, including regulators (FDA), technical leaders from large companies (Boston Scientific & Ansys), a CEO of a startup (TECHFIT), and an academic thought leader (University of Leeds) will discuss the ideal ecosystem interactions for adopting engineering simulation effectively from a time and cost perspective.

Check out the incredible speaker line-up to see who will be joining Alejandro.
