After a long period of R&D with Merck as a synthetic organic chemist and R&D leader, in the last five years, Mark has transitioned from R&D leadership via technology scouting and optimisation of early stage innovation processes to a current role to digitalise the experimental R&D workflow within Merck’s Performance Materials Business Sector.  

The grand vision of the paper-free, connected, fully digitalised lab has many aspects to consider; applications, instruments, connectivity, but most importantly people. Does R&D digitalisation really make life as an R&D Scientist better??
