Michael Shanler is a strategic advisor to corporate executives, CIOs, and IT leaders. He has a specific focus on R&D technologies and advises Gartner clients on science-based new product development (NPD), innovation, collaboration, and laboratory informatics strategies.
Prior to joining Gartner, Michael was at Becton Dickinson and Genetics Institute where he managed R&D scientists and engineers focused on drug discovery, automation, and NPD. He has deep experience in strategic technology evaluation, IT road maps, NPD programs, competitive intelligence, automation, and program management (concept-launch) for therapeutics, consumables, reagents, and instruments. Michael holds several patents for life science tools and a BS in Biomedical Engineering.
