Thorsten Dikmann
Senior Digitalisation Specialist BASF
Thorsten Dikmann studied computer science and physics at WWU Münster, Germany. He joined BASF already as a student in 2006 and ever since links the needs of laboratories with digital solutions in IT. Starting with automating workflows with connected instruments he later worked on identifying a global LIMS provider to harmonize BASF's system landscape before heading the team responsible for BASF's global Electronic Lab Notebook.
After supporting digitalization of Catalysts R&D in the US, he recently relocated back to Germany now mimicing Mr. Wonderful in BASF's own "Shark-Tank" to foster corporate entrepreneurship in laboratory digitalization capabilities.
