CSafe announced today that it has subcontracted maintenance and repair services for their CSafe RKN at both the Seattle and Dulles International Airports. This notice follows their June announcement of the opening of their CSafe managed service center in San Francisco. The new repair centers at SEA and IAD will service CSafe’s active systems and they anticipate that the growth of these centers will be similar to that of their SFO center.

Rick Rackley, CSafe’s Director of Service Centers and Support, explains: “In the short time since we opened in SFO, business has increased substantially supporting several biopharma companies. We’ve added another technician to our staff to support the SFO business growth. The Dulles and Seattle service centers will enable CSafe to support our growing biopharmaceutical customers who transport high volumes of temperature-sensitive shipments through both locations.”

Biopharmaceuticals are a growing sector in Washington State. In fact, earlier this month, the Washington Biotechnology & Biomedical Association (WBBA) has said that the state’s life science trade association reports that more than 50 Washington life science transactions this year to date have surpassed $1 billion. The financial milestone is $275 million more than the sum generated by 73 transactions in the state’s life science industry in 2013. Washington DC also has a vibrant biopharma sector and the airports are an important freight hub with the Washington DC and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority reporting that, in 2012, carriers at Dulles International and Reagan National handled approximately $8.4 billion in air freight destined for both domestic and foreign markets and growing.

CSafe President and CEO, Brian Kohr, concludes: “As part of our continuing commitment to deliver value, effective and quality temperature-sensitive shipping solutions to our customers and partners, we opened the SEA and IAD service centers to support their business development. We are proud to have had a year of unprecedented growth at CSafe and have expanded our RKN fleet by 45% over the past twelve months.”
