Pharma and biotechs have greatly increased investments into the development of a wide variety of therapeutic biologics.

But in many organizations, the informatics systems that handle biologics lag behind today's requirements. As a result scientists are over reliant on ad-hoc solutions like Excel, Documents, Sharepoint, paper notebooks and home-grown point solutions. This has created an inherent struggle to efficiently track processes, experiments, entities and leverage the huge volumes of data being produced.

During this session the presenters will highlight the value of an integrated informatics solution, showcase customer case studies and provide insight into a biologics discovery workflow using Bio ELN, Biological Registration and Vortex Bioinformatics.

By attending this webinar, you will learn:

  • The informatics capabilities that are needed to allow scientists to capture all the data from complex biologics discovery workflows.
  • How to ensure that the capabilities provided to scientific teams map to their laboratory workflows.
  • The value of a scientific team being able to access all biologics project data in one place.
  • How to provide advanced bioinformatics analysis of project data in an easy to use graphical application interface.

Dotmatics

Dotmatics delivers a ready-to-use platform to capture, register, share, collaborate, query, visualise and analyse all the information and knowledge generated in the modern, highly collaborative scientific industries. Dotmatics has significant expertise in scientific informatics, including database management for chemistry and biologics, electronic laboratory notebooks, chemical and biological registration, screening data management, SAR analysis, reporting, and visualisation. The enterprise solutions are flexible, scalable and configurable, providing effective scientific information management across entire organisations, from discovery research to development and early manufacturing.

Stephen Manning
Principal Application Scientist
Dotmatics

Steve joined Dotmatics in 2015 and is part of a team of Biologists focused on improving laboratory personnel’s daily workflow and data management needs.  Bringing together the user’s registration, data entry and reporting results allows for scientists to focus on their discoveries while streamlining their day to day data recording requirements.

Steve brings twenty years of experience in Biologics to Dotmatics.  He worked for over a decade at Cell Signaling Technology as a Group Leader in the Production department.  While at CST he focused on new lot generation, customer support and process improvement.  These duties also included PLM and Quality improvements, front-line testing of new software and improvements to workflow management.  Prior to CST, Steve worked at Millennium Pharmaceuticals gaining critical knowledge and experience in both in vivo and in vitro based procedures.

Mattias Levin
Research Scientist
Alligator Biosciences

Mattias Levin has a Masters degree in Biotechnology as well as a PhD in Immunotechnology from Lund University, Sweden. Extensive experience in antibody engineering, with focus on library technologies and discovery of novel antibody based molecules. Joined Alligator Biosciences in 2015 and holds responsibilities within discovery and development of new candidates to be part of Alligators pipeline of antibody based immuno-oncology drugs.
