Dr. Rajendra Jani, Senior Vice President and Head of Clinical R&D, Cadila Healthcare, joins Andrea Charles from Pharma IQ, to discuss how to increase the efficiency of your clinical trials whilst retaining quality and current trends for clinical trials in India. In the second half of the interview Jani also shares his own experiences of working within clinical R&D and what motivates him.

Dr. Rajendra Jani has earned his Ph.D. (Medical) in Pathology & Bacteriology after his post graduation from faculty of medicine. He has published more than 25 research papers and obtained more 70 patents. He was involved in about 70 drug development programs.

Dr. Rajendra Jani has more than 30 years experience in drug research. He was an Assistant Professor at Government Medical College, Surat, Gujarat, India and also worked for research driven companies such as Cynamid, Hoechst, Rhone-Poulenc, German Remedies Limited and its affiliates Boehringer Ingelheim, Schering AG, ASTA Medical, etc., in various capacities.  


Dr. Rajendra Jani is Senior Vice President and Head of Clinical R&D, Cadila Healthcare Limited, a flagship company of Zydus group. The company has fully integrated in-house clinical research facility. He is responsible for strategies and execution of GCP compliant Phase I-IV clinical development programs of the company.
