Dr. Floether has an educational background in Chemistry and Pharmacy, both from the University of Halle-Wittenberg.
He has been serving as Executive in pharmaceutical R&D for almost 30 years, both in generics (1979 -1993) and Johnson & Johnson (1993 - 2008). His last positions before retirement were Vice-President, Global Analytical Development and Vice-President, Business Development Asia Pacific within Johnson & Johnson. He gained broad international experience mainly in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, USA, and India and has built up pharmaceutical R&D capabilities for Johnson & Johnson in Asia over the last years.
He is still active as a consultant advising on offshoring of pharmaceutical R&D towards Asia, and assisting in setting up partnerships between Western and Asian pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Floether is the inventor / co-inventor or author of more than 50 patents and scientific papers.
