Time is Running Out: Are You Ready For Serialisation?

Medicinal products intended for human use have to be serialised in Europe by 2016/17. Serialisation is no longer a matter of “if”, or even “when”; it’s just a matter of how you plan to implement it effectively. With even more imminent deadlines pressing in India and Germany, its no wonder than every manufacturer that has their finger on the pulse has serialisation at the top of their priority list. Ahead of the Pharmaceutical Serialisation and Traceability Summit 2012 in November, Pharma IQ conducted a survey of pharmaceutical manufacturers to find out if they would be compliant in time. The majority of pharma manufacturers said they currently initiating their serialisation projects and they expect the implementation to take on average more than two years – which is why they have to act now to make the deadlines.
