Pharma IQ have just made a great new podcast interview available on the Resource Centre; How to Address the IP Issues Specifically Associated with Polymorphic Forms.

The podcast is an interview with Dr. Alpesh Pathak, Head - Patent Cell at Alembic Research Center and is available on the Developing IP Strategies for Crystalline Forms website www.ipcrys.com completely FREE of charge.

It is becoming increasingly important to have a successful application and litigation strategy to protect and maximise the revenue from existing patents. A substantial proportion of pharmaceutical products are crystalline forms which, due to the intricacies of obviousness and novelty, are notoriously difficult to patent and litigate. In this podcast Dr. Alpesh Pathak, Head - Patent Cell at Alembic Research Center, shares his insights regarding the IP landscape for pharmaceutical crystalline and polymorphic forms. Dr. Pathak also discusses the unique challenges surrounding patenting pharmaceutical crystalline and polymorphic forms and how the industry is responding to these issues.

If you would like to hear more on this subject, then you have your chance at the Developing IP Strategies for Crystalline Forms conference in London 6-8 December where Dr. Pathak will do a session on; Defining A Strategy To Address IP Issues For A Polymorph, Salt, Hydrate, Impurity Patent: A Generic Perspective.

Wockhardt, Bayer Healthcare, Alembic, European Patent Office and Hovione are just a few of the companies who will be coming together to share IP and patent protection best practice and work together to find the optimum way to prevent patent infringement of their companies’ crystalline forms.
